UH OH

Uh oh. That's what my son Oliver says when he knows he's in trouble, and for me this "uh oh" is directed at myself for allowing an eon to pass by without posting anything.

So why no work Matt? Well the truth is there is plenty of work, most of it unfinished and lots of it unsatisfactory due to my Ph.D in Procrastination.

So I've decided a change must be had and fast. From now on I wish to post something at least once a week. I'm taking away my feelings and my perfectionism, and posting it here no matter what I think. If I don't I'm the only one who can criticize my work and believe me, I'm very good at that. The truth is I've no idea if I should pursue concept design, animation, illustration, etc. Hopefully feedback from here and in my cghub & ca.org sketchbooks will help me out. That's the plan at least.

So here is a small portion of what I've been doing. I hope you enjoy it.

Arrrrgh I was hoping to post long before this. Anyhow here's a futuristic commuter I've done for Sketch Theatre using markers, pigment liner, pencils and a gel pen.

My Little Buddy

Months and months and months. Long time no post. That's because I became a dad on August 3rd. Here's a picture of beautiful Oliver.

Anyhow took 5 weeks off to spend time with him and recently it's just been getting used to being a dad, and finding out how much sleep I can survive on.

I've been doing lot's of pen and pencil sketching which I'll post soon, but for now here's a snowy mountain study I did tonight. About 2 hours worth.

Recently my piece "Rider in the Wasteland" won IMAGE OF THE DAY over at the ImagineFX website. If that wasn't terrific enough I was then asked if I wanted to submit some art to go with my image of the day and be featured on the FXPOSE section of the DVD. So I also sent "Rescue In The Green Valley " & "Dante & The Valley Of Souls" Well the above image is the current issue (#58) which has little old me on the DVD with 9 other fabulous artists. Special thanks goes out to the DVD editor Scott Ewart for inviting me submit and using my Dante image as the watermark background for the entire section!
Much appreciated!
